    Has anyone worked with Types and Views? http://wp-types.com/ I’d be interested in hearing your commments and thoughts! Looks like great, but using shortcodes for it worries me because they are not the most user friendly for clients.

    With the advanced custom fields plugin, your fields for any page not only work in the page templates they work in the header and footer templates. I’ll have to see if using the option to convert the values into custom fields will make it page-specific.

    I’ve been using the Options Tree plugin lately to allow for customizable options for themes. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/option-tree/ Advanced custom fields also allows for an options page.
